On the Campaign-He was wounded in the arm in the combat at the Sunken Road shortly after. As Major Bentley, and all but one of the other officers of the Regiment were either killed or wounded, Captain O'Neill, Company A, the only unwounded officer present at that time, took command when Fowler was carried off.
